" According to a press conference with BET, 106 & Park would be going through major changes this summer. The set will be completely re-designed and the instrumental of Beyonce's
"Upgrade U" will be used as the show's theme song. The scheduling will also be completly different, however, Wild Out Wednesday and Free Style Friday will remain the same. Every Tuesday, 106 & Park hopes to have a performance by popular Hip-Hop & R&B artists. Every Thursday, the original countdown will be scrapped and replaced by new videos from the 90s and early 2000s. This will become known as Throwback Thursday. Viewers will be able to vote for old school videos from artists like Aaliyah, Tupac, TLC, R. Kelly, and many more. On Friday, the regular countdown will return to normal, and Thursday's countdown videos will be carried over to the following Thursday. BET is also pushing for 106 & Park to become a two-hour show, instead of an hour and a half. Also, most videos will be reduced to a minute and a half, or two minutes, instead of being played fully. The Mobile Fan Club will remain the same, and current hosts Rocsi and Terrance J will be fired due to their poor host skills, along with a new celebrity co-cost (BET is pushing for etiher Brandy or Ray J Norwood).
BET is also hoping to give 106 & Park their own website (scheduled to be: 106andpark.bet.com) where viewers can log on and vote for their favorite videos, as well as Wild Out Wednesday. Viewers will also be able to create accounts and freely chat on the website's message board"
