there are still those rappers out there today, arguably just as many as back then, they just aren't mainstream. hip hop fans have changed just as much as hip hop artists, we choose what to make popular and mainstream these days supports wack ass rappers versus those that are trying to send a message.

^yea thats how it is, all the fans today wanna hear about is dancin n snap music, n cars, jewelry, and about materialistic things...and thats why alot of artists that are good rappers aint sellin' its the younger fans buyin' the mainstream albums today, maybe if we mature hip hop fans buy the retail albums as a whole none of this wouldnt be happenin', but us fans are just as bad, cuz we aint buyin the CD's supportin' our fav artists..n alot of rappers gettin' slept on because of all this catchy shit, i dont understand why music gotta be catchy to sell, why cant it be about the lyricism..people wanna hear beats, but have these rappers that are mainstream cant even flow on them, thats how i see it...the weak rappers will prevail, until we all are supportive of the good artists
