I mean how come soulja boy gets a major deal and air play and he only raps about dancing while other DEEP REAL rappers like K-Rino rap about important stuff but cant get a major deal or get air play??

Hip hop is not dead but damn i think fans are the ones who are killing it,people support rappers like yung joc,chingy,hurricane chris they all sell and go platinum for rapping about pointless stuff but real rappers who rap about important stuff k-rino,z-ro,trae cant go platinum??

Whats up with that huh??Dont get me wrong I also like crunk club tracks and heck I like going to clubs and partyings and listening to crunk music to get me throwed.

But it amazes me how rappers with deep messages wont sell,and for the people claiming the south is killing hip hop,that is not true ATLANTA(city i live in) is killing hip hop,but other southern rappers like in texas they keep hip hop alive.

I'm also a rapper myself and I admit that i do rap about cars,hoes,etc but why is it if a person raps about deep stuff they wont sell??

because you hear things on the radio mainly while your driving and you cant think about other things and drive at the same time so they make you listened to watered down bullshit that takes no real thought, talent, or effort to make or to listen to.

Everytime I tune in the radio, I hear Fabolous - Make Me Better. Fuck that song. Heard it so many times it's garbage now.... Matter of fact, it was ever even that good.

Most people don't care about lyrics, all they want is a hot beat that can dance to. Especially the ladies, they just want a song to shake their ass to. I guaranteed you if you put a club banger beat with some deep lyrics people will like it.

well, don't blame on fans, most people just want have some fun and relax after school and work, that's a good way for them, turn on the tv and radio, listen to some shits, that easy to understand. they don't really care about deep music or whatever you wanna call it. see, everybody knows that Soulja Boy can't rap at all, but they wouldn't listen to Nas, Jay-z etc's music after an long day, all they need is relax, so club shits and something that has simple lyrics and hot beats are good for them at this point.

Exactly what Seed said. Who wants to come home from a stressful day at work, and turn on the radio to hear someone rapping about struggle? You exercise your mind enough at work, or at school. People just want to chill out, and have some fun.

cuz society wants u to think in a unique way, so they can control a lot of people... and therefore they r gonna put BS like candy shop, just a lil bit, badd, etc on air, so people wont have to think when they listen to that... my point is if artists who have deep things to say were put on air, people woud be like: hell yeah he's tellin the truth, Im fed up with that shit and Im going to try to improve things... and in that case, society woudnt have any control on people anymore...
