| Well I know there are some ppl that find Reason easy to use while others find FL Studio hard to use (lmfao!).
My recommendation is start with FL Studio and use just whatever they have there and when you start to advance you can use addons and 3rd party plugins instead of the ones with FL Studio (very important because too many nimrods never think about that because they assume FL is like in that what it has by itself is sufficient).
Unless you have time on your hands you really don't need any drum samples. You can simply layer the drums and percussions in FL and tweak them using the legacy effects (you need to enable them in the option to see and use them) or you could use the effects in the mixer on them. Most ppl are too lazy to do that themselves and I can't blame them because sometimes it can be hell.
Now next thing is you may need some soft synths to use with FL for a beginner you would probably do well with a rompler such as Spectrasonic Trilogy for Bass or lead sounds, Philharmonik or SampleTank 2 for orchestral type sounds (I prefer Sample Tank 2). These romplers are practically easy to use so they shouldn't really pose any probs.
Trust me if you got the right plugins then FL Studio is pretty much all you'll end up needing. There's many other soft synths and mastering vst's out there but since you just starting out you really don't need to kill yourself knowing every single right now. |
