    | Ciara "Wants To Sing," Hits The Big Screen For Off-Broadway Adaptation Alongside soul legend Patti LaBelle, R&B singer Ciara will be starring in her fist lead role on the big screen. According to Variety, Mama, I Want to Sing! is expected to start filming in Baton Rouge, La., next month. The movie, which is the adaptation of an Off-Broadway musical of the same name, tells the story of a preacher's daughter who makes her way from the church choir to the top of the pop charts. Ciara's character is based on Doris Troy, known for her hit "Just One Look." Ciara will be joining Patti LaBelle and Lynn Whitfield (Madea's Family Reunion, The Josephine Baker Story) in the cast along with Charles Randolph-Wright (Preaching to the Choir) who wrote and directed the flick.
