Daddy Yankee got some problems heading his way. Victor M. Lopez, Jr. is suing DY for copyright infringement regarding “Salud y Vida,” a song off Barrio Fino. The lawsuit also states that Lopez is given credit in the liner notes but Lopez wasn’t compensated.
“Daddy Yankee’s representatives tried to negotiate a deal with Lopez to include the song on the Barrio Fino album, but when negotiations broke down, they simply used the composition without permission,” explained Peter Afrasiabi, one of Lopez’s lawyers.
Don’t sound too good para El Cangri. Especially since The Big Boss ain’t having Barrio’s success.
