Foxy Brown has been charged with felony assault after smacking her neighbor with her Blackberry cell phone last month in the Prospect Heights section of Brooklyn New York.
According to WABC, Foxy Brown (Real name: Inga Marchand) turned herself in to detectives at the 77 Precinct yesterday (Aug. 14) at 2:30 pm. She was charged with felony assault, menacing, harassment and criminal possession of a weapon. Foxy was arraigned last night and released on $5,000 bail. Her next court appearance will be Sept. 26.
Foxy, who is currently on parole, is accused of assaulting her neighbor on July 30 at around 6:50 p.m. at the corner of Carlton Avenue and Prospect Place. She is alleged to have smacked the woman with her Blackberry following an argument. The victim was reportedly taken to Brooklyn hospital for loosening of the teeth, swelling of the lip and swelling of the right eye. She filed a complaint with police, and after an investigation.
Foxy pleaded guilty last year to misdemeanor assault charges stemming from a fight with salon workers over payment for a manicure and is on probation in that case.
She is also facing a battery charge in another incident earlier this year. Police allege she threw hair glue at a beauty shop employee in Florida when he asked her to leave because the shop was closing.
While the Florida case is pending, the Manhattan court that handled the original arrest imposed restrictions on Brown, including drug tests and anger management classes. Probation officials wanted the close monitoring to continue for another two months, but a Manhattan judge disagreed.
