Russell & Kimora Lee Simmons File Libel Suit Against "In Touch" Magazine
Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons recently filed a libel suit against the publishers of In Touch Magazine, seeking damages for at least $250,000.
According to thesmokinggun.com Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons filed a libel suit on May 17 with the New York State Supreme Court. The suit names Bauer Publishing as well as In Touch Editor-in-Chief Richard Spencer and Executive Editor Michelle Lee as defendants.
Normally such an "action for libel" would include detailed allegations from the plaintiffs, however, while the summons filed by the Simmons' shows they are seeking damages of at least $250,000, the document is missing such a complaint from the pair.
While the In Touch editors and publisher have already been served with the summons the lack of a corresponding complaint has left the editors, and public, unclear about how the magazine may have committed libel.
Brad Rose, an attorney who represents the Simmons', has declined to comment about the suit.
